Binge watching. We all do it. If you don’t, more power to you. I for one binge watch and tend to do it at the most inconvenient of times. Let me tell you a little story about the time I started watching Scandal… during finals week. It may not have been one of my best ideas, but I definitely don’t regret it. I successfully watched two whole seasons in one week which I deem a success! Binge watching isn’t a new thing, although it has recently become quite a phenomenon.
I remember the first time I binge watched a T.V. show. It was my sophomore year of high school and my friend told me about a show she started watching, Veronica Mars. She told me I had to watch it because it was the most amazing show ever. Of course I had to know what all the hype was about. I sat down in front of my computer and started the first episode. I was hooked. I had to know what was going to happen next. The best part was, I didn’t have to wait a week to find out what was going to happen next, it was right there in front of me! I then proceeded to immerse myself into the world of Neptune, California for hours at a time.
Here is the trailer for the movie so you can watch it once you have conquered the 3 seasons:
This may have been the first time, but it certainly wasn’t the last. The Hills, 90210, Doogie Houser M.D., Friday Night Lights have provided me with countless consecutive hours of entertainment.
Binge watching is a great way to escape real life, but don’t forget that real life will still be there once you reach the season finale.
With that, here are my favorite three shows to binge watch:
- Scandal (My most recent obsession and possibly the best show ever)
- Veronica Mars (My first obsession and one of the best shows out there, make sure you watch the movie once you finish the series)
- Friday Night Lights (The first show I binge watched when I came to college, oh the memories)
